The meeting marked a fresh phase of engagement to strengthen bilateral economic ties and set a forward-looking agenda for cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discussions followed the <strong>Joint Statement of 13 October 2025\u2014\u201cRenewing Momentum towards a Stronger Partnership\u201d<\/strong>, which identified trade as the key driver of growth and resilience between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Strong Foundation of India\u2013Canada Relations<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Both Ministers reaffirmed the deep and long-standing partnership between India and Canada, rooted in shared democratic values, cultural diversity, and strong economic complementarities. They also acknowledged the significant role of the <strong>2.9 million-strong Indian diaspora<\/strong> and more than <strong>427,000 Indian students<\/strong> in Canada, who act as a vital bridge supporting innovation, education, and greater economic cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bilateral trade in goods and services reached <strong>USD 18.38 billion in 2023<\/strong>, with both sides welcoming the steady rise in two-way investments. The Ministers reiterated their commitment to building an <strong>open, transparent, and predictable business environment<\/strong> that supports sustainable and inclusive growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Areas of Discussion<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministerial Dialogue covered several priority areas, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Strengthening bilateral trade and investment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhancing cooperation on nutritional security<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improving supply chain resilience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaboration in the health sector<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitating investments and easing business processes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministers also reviewed trade policy developments and discussed ways to improve market access, align regulations, and build long-term economic resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Shared Vision for a Stronger Economic Future<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Concluding the meeting, both sides expressed a shared commitment to <strong>revitalizing the India\u2013Canada economic partnership<\/strong> based on mutual trust and respect.
