Delhi | December 12, 2025<\/em> : <\/strong>National Energy Conservation Day will be observed across the country on December 14, 2025<\/strong>, with a national-level ceremony to be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The event aims to raise awareness about the importance of energy conservation and highlight India\u2019s progress in energy efficiency initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu<\/strong>, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest<\/strong>, address the gathering, and felicitate the winners of the National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) 2025<\/strong> and the National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal<\/strong> will also address the event. National Energy Conservation Awards 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE)<\/strong>, under the Ministry of Power, confers the NECA awards each year to recognize outstanding efforts made by industries, institutions, buildings, transport sectors, appliance manufacturers, and professionals in reducing energy consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For NECA 2025<\/strong>, applications were invited through an open advertisement, resulting in 680 entries<\/strong> across seven major categories and 28 subsectors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a significant move, this year a new award category for Social Media Influencers and Digital Content Creators<\/strong> has been introduced, acknowledging their growing role in shaping public opinion and spreading awareness about energy conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Painting Competition on Energy Conservation 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

BEE has been organizing the National Painting Competition annually since 2005 to create awareness among school children and foster responsible energy-use behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition is held in three stages\u2014School Level<\/strong>, State\/UT Level<\/strong>, and National Level<\/strong>\u2014for two groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Group A:<\/strong> 5th to 7th standard<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Group B:<\/strong> 8th to 10th standard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    In 2025, the competition witnessed remarkable participation, with over 80 lakh students<\/strong> from 1.10 lakh schools<\/strong> across India taking part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
