New Delhi, May 19, 2026: The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises is accelerating the digital transformation of India\u2019s small businesses through the Trade Enablement and Access to Market (TEAM) Initiative, a key sub-scheme under the World Bank-supported RAMP Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Implemented by the National Small Industries Corporation, the TEAM Initiative aims to provide complete e-commerce support to Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) by enabling them to participate effectively in digital commerce through the Open Network for Digital Commerce platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative is designed to empower artisans, home-based entrepreneurs, local manufacturers and small retailers by offering institutional support in areas such as onboarding, product cataloguing, packaging, logistics and customer management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the notable success stories under the initiative is the Baba Sankari Farmer Producer Organization, located in Village Pachari of Udhampur district, Jammu & Kashmir. The FPO, known for producing premium walnuts, faced challenges in accessing wider markets due to geographical isolation and limited buyer connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After joining the TEAM Initiative, the organisation witnessed remarkable growth within just two months. It successfully processed over 100 orders from customers across India, significantly expanding its market reach. The integration of digital payment systems also ensured timely payments and reduced delays for rural producers. Farmers associated with the FPO benefited from improved income opportunities and better market visibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another inspiring example is Kanglei Foods, a food enterprise from Manipur led by Mr. Koijam Sanahal. Through the TEAM Initiative\u2019s logistics support and doorstep shipment pickup services, the enterprise expanded its customer base beyond the North-East region and now receives regular monthly orders from several states across India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The enterprise has recorded steady income growth through enhanced order generation and logistics support, while also serving customers in remote regions of Manipur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the Ministry, the TEAM Initiative is helping reduce entry barriers for small businesses and lowering commission costs through ONDC\u2019s interoperable digital commerce framework.
