From her early academic excellence—completing her All India Higher Secondary Examination with First Class, earning a Gold Medal in Home Science from Bangalore University, and completing her MSc in Food & Nutrition—to pioneering work in special education and rehabilitation, Dr. Chandra Prasad has exemplified professional dedication fused with compassion.
As Co-Founder, Hon. Director, and General Secretary of the Dr. Dathu Rao Memorial Charitable Trust and its flagship institutions—Pathway Centre for Rehabilitation & Education of the Intellectually Disabled, Pamela Martinez / Pathway Matriculation School & Children’s Home, and Sabin – Pathway Home for Persons with Intellectual Disability and Associated Conditions—Dr. Chandra Prasad has led initiatives that have impacted over 40,000 children and adults.
Her leadership has ensured comprehensive services including special education, vocational training, medical care, therapeutic programs, and recreational activities, all offered free of cost. Dr. Chandra Prasad has also pioneered innovative vocational projects such as bakery and culinary arts, artificial jewelry production, and eco-friendly crafts, empowering intellectually disabled adults with sustainable livelihood opportunities.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Chandra Prasad spearheaded humanitarian relief efforts, assisting over 2,000 families with groceries, medicines, masks, and sanitizers, demonstrating her dedication to societal welfare alongside professional excellence.
