New Delhi | December 13, 2025 : Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah on Friday paid solemn tributes to the security personnel who laid down their lives while bravely repelling the terrorist attack on Parliament on December 13, 2001.
Recalling the historic incident, Shri Shah said the day serves as a reminder of the indomitable courage and valour displayed by India’s security forces in the face of terrorism. He noted that in 2001, the alertness, determination and sacrifice of the security personnel successfully foiled a cowardly attack on Parliament, the temple of the world’s largest democracy.
In a post on social media platform X, the Home Minister said the nation bows in respect to the martyrs who attained martyrdom while giving a befitting reply to the terrorists. He added that India will forever remain indebted to these heroic warriors whose supreme sacrifice protected the sovereignty and democratic values of the country.
The Parliament attack of December 13, 2001, remains a defining moment in India’s fight against terrorism, symbolising the unwavering resolve and bravery of the nation’s security forces.
