New Delhi 04 Nov. : The Hon’ble Union Minister of Law and Justice, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, will represent India at the prestigious King Hamad Lecture for Neutral Justice Ceremony and the Conference on the Future of International Commercial Courts, scheduled to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain on November 5–6, 2025.

Organized by the Council for International Dispute Resolution (CIDR) of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the patronage of the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments, the conference will bring together leading jurists, global experts, and policymakers to deliberate on the future of international commercial courts and transnational dispute resolution systems.

During the conference, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal will deliver the Keynote Address on the theme “Promoting Commerce Between Bahrain and India” in a special session titled “Bahrain–India: Pathways Towards Successful Commerce.” The distinguished panel will include Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India; Prof. Marike Paulsson, Secretary-General, CIDR Bahrain; and Dr. Pinky Anand, Senior Advocate, India.

In his address, the Union Minister is expected to highlight India’s progressive legal and institutional reforms that aim to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and global credibility of the nation’s commercial dispute resolution mechanisms. He will underscore India’s commitment to promoting a fair, neutral, and efficient framework for transnational commercial justice.

The Minister will also reaffirm India’s willingness to collaborate closely with the Council for International Dispute Resolution of Bahrain and the India International Arbitration Centre (IIAC) to foster institutional arbitration and mediation frameworks. This collaboration will include the exchange of best practices, capacity-building programs, and mutual recognition of arbitral awards, thereby strengthening the global ecosystem of commercial justice.

India’s participation at this high-level global forum reflects its growing leadership role in international arbitration and its consistent efforts to make commercial justice accessible, effective, and globally harmonized. The conference marks a significant step in enhancing India–Bahrain legal cooperation and deepening bilateral ties through shared commitment to judicial innovation and commercial harmony.
