Pune: Renowned hospitality educator and academic administrator Ms. Namrratta Dssouza has been conferred with the prestigious Rashtriya Shiksha Ratna Samman 2025 by Global Icons of India E-Magazine, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to education and academic leadership.
With over 28 years of rich experience spanning the hospitality industry and higher education, Ms. Dssouza’s professional journey reflects discipline, dedication and a strong commitment to quality education. She began her career as an entrepreneur managing catering and industrial canteen operations, later gaining extensive industry exposure with leading brands such as Pizza Hut, where she rose from Shift Manager to Area Manager in Indore, and Oakwood Hotel.
In 2009, she transitioned into academics with a mission to shape industry-ready professionals. She served as Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator, earning wide respect for her structured, industry-oriented teaching and focus on student development. For over 16 years, she has been associated with Ambrosia Institute of Hotel Management, where she currently serves as Principal In-Charge. Under her leadership, the institute has witnessed notable improvements in academic systems, management practices, discipline and overall institutional growth.
A firm believer in lifelong learning, Ms. Dssouza is presently pursuing her Ph.D. in Hospitality Organization Management from Savitribai Phule Pune University. Her work has been recognised through several national and state-level honours, including the Star Education Award 2025, Visionary Leader Award 2025, Indian Legacy Award 2025, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Legacy Award, Chanakya National Leadership Service Award, and State-Level Ideal Teacher Award 2025.
