Pune (October 21): On behalf of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), a ‘Yashaswini Bike Rally’ of 75 women jawans has been organized on the occasion of the Amrit Jubilee year of Indian Independence. As part of this initiative, the Yashaswini Rally, which started from Kanyakumari on October 5, arrived in Pune this morning. The rally was warmly welcomed by the Pune district administration.

Pune Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Ramesh Chavan, CRPF DIG Vaibhav Nimbalkar, DIGP Rakesh Kumar, District Program Officer Jamsingh Girase along with women, teachers and students attended the programme.

 During the Yashaswini rally, public awareness is being spread about the importance of female birth and female power. The women bikers in the rally are going to the cities along their route and interacting with teenage girls, school and college students, Anganwadi workers and NCC cadets to convey the message of women empowerment and ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’.

75 women jawans of Yashaswini rally first entered Shaniwar Wada in Pune city via Solapur, Indapur on their two-wheelers. On this occasion, Yashaswini was given a warm welcome by playing drums and singing. Kalash Puja was also performed under the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ initiative.
Ramesh Chavan, Chief Executive Officer of Pune Zilla Parishad, said that the sex ratio of Maharashtra is 912 females for every 1,000 males. To change this situation, the message ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ needs to be spread in the society. The Yashaswini rally organized by CRPF will help this message to reach every section of the society.

During the programme, FDs were awarded to the beneficiaries of My Daughter Bhagyashree-‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ scheme. After that, the Anganwadi sevaks of Daund, Integrated Child Development Service Scheme Project, presented a Powada to encourage the birth of a girl child. Also, the students of Venkatesh Secondary School, Balajinagar, Pune performed a street play on the theme ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’.

Meanwhile, Anganwadi sevaks from Narayangaon, Integrated Child Development Services Scheme project, presented the Mangalore program. Finally, jawans of CRPF’s Talegaon camp also enthralled the audience with a patriotic group dance.
